十八日信收到。对于曹译小说的两条，我以为是都不成问题的，现在即可由我负责决定：一、暂抽去《烟袋》；二、立一新名。
因为他在旅行，我不知道其住址，一时无从探问，待到去信转辗递到，他寄回信来，我又不在上海了：这样就可以拖半年。所以还是由我决定了好。我想他不至于因此见怪的。
但我想：新名可以用漂亮点的，《两个朋友》，《犯人》之类，实在太平凡。
我想在月底走，十月初回来。
