九月十八日信已到。三十元收据，已托人去取，据云须月底才付款，当待数日，如竟取得，则交开明。
《未名月刊》事，我想，我是不能办的。因为我既不善于经营事务，而这样的一个办事人，亦无处可请，加以我是否专住上海，殊不可知，所以如来信所云，实非善法。倘编稿后由北京印行，不但多信件往来之烦，而关于论辩上的文章，亦易于失去时间性，编者读者，两无趣味。因此我对于《未名月刊》实无办法，不如仍由在北平同人主持，为较有条理也。
